libftdi1 software package provides Library to control and program the FTDI USB controller, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libftdi1
libftdi1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libftdi1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libftdi1 *
You will get with libftdi1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
